MHR is looking for dynamic individuals to join our Board of Trustees! As a trustee, you’ll play a vital role in shaping our mission, driving impact, and ensuring excellence in governance.

Who are we looking for? Women with either of these:

1. Clinical Expertise: Solid hands-on knowledge and experience in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, understanding of patient-centered care, public health and social determinants of health, regulatory knowledge and ethical standards, leadership and governance experience, crisis management and problem-solving skills and experience with multi-disciplinary teams.

Essential: Must be be a member of an advanced level professional organization like SOGON, MDCN, MWAN, NMC or it’s equivalent with advanced qualifications and postgraduate specialization- FRCP, FMCP, DrPH, MHSM, and a fellow of any reputable clinical body.

2. Legal Expertise: Knowledge of nonprofit laws, compliance, and contracts with the ability to provide guidance on risk management and legal matters and a passion for supporting social causes.

Essential: Advanced law degree or equivalent qualification, experience with nonprofit, tax-exempt, and corporate laws and knowledge of contracts, compliance, and governance frameworks.

3. Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and audits with experience with nonprofit financial sustainability and fundraising strategies and commitment to transparency and accountability.

Essential: Advanced accounting or finance degree with significant financial management experience and a strong understanding of auditing. Must be an FCA or FCNA or Fellow of relevant tax or audit professional bodies.

General Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

High ethical standards and commitment to the MHR’s mission.
