MHR stands out for its innovative, user-led approach to delivering health rights information, leveraging dynamic media platforms and communication strategies to drive behavioral change.
Unlike traditional organizations, Our hybrid community consists of diverse digital-based people attracted to our user-led inclusive approach and targeted physical groups that are the rightsholders of our interventions. We combine cutting-edge digital campaigns, through our Love Matters Naija platforms, with grassroots initiatives that empower vulnerable groups, particularly marginalized young people, adolescent girls, and young women, to take charge of their health and rights.
Our focus on addressing SRHR issues and fostering community-led solutions demonstrates a unique blend of adaptability and inclusivity. Additionally, MHR’s ability to integrate strategic partnerships, digital media, and community engagement ensures impactful, sustainable change tailored to Nigeria’s socio-cultural context.

WHO WE ARE...
MHR started as a social media project in June 2018 called LOVE MATTERS NAIJA. Our mode of operation has continued to be using a pleasure-positive approach to inform and engage with young people on issues of sexual reproductive health and Rights on Facebook. Over the years, we have worked mostly on social media but having discovered a good number of young people are not on social media, we created hybrid interventions.
We have been creating content for radio and working with radio stations in Nigeria to build their capacity to project these worrisome issues in the myriad of ways they can. On April 29th 2021, we were officially registered as an NGO to continue working to reach young people and vulnerable communities in Nigeria regardless of class, geographic location, age, tribe, and gender.
We have employed diverse innovative ways to produce strategic development communication and multimedia content across our different target areas.

Values: We are a value-driven organization and we always project the following values:
- Empowerment: Informed societies are created by the spread of knowledge through education and continuous learning. This is a core value for us at MHR as we engage our communities and individuals with the power of research and facts bordering on health, rights and economic issues that can help each person make enlightened decisions and progressive choices. This also applies to our strong belief in employee growth and development where we push for the growth of each staff member to serve as avenue of change unto others.
- Community: We as people long for connection in clusters; we are constantly yearning for and affiliating with like-minds who we feel safe around and can ultimately help us grow. Therefore, we advocate in communities because we understand that fostering connections and influence in groups helps spread the gospel of empowerment faster across Nigeria.
- Inclusivity: We live in a diverse world blessed with individuals of varying ideologies, backgrounds, expressions and genders. We are of the notion that people are humans first before tags assigned by family and society and therefore our diversity should give room for freedom of expression, keeping in mind that unity, understanding and a great life are the goal for us as a people. We are non-judgmental. We believe in the beauty of diversity and informed choices.
- Integrity: What we say is what we will do. Our word is our bond. Honesty and accountability are important to us and we manifest this as a team, in our communities and with our stakeholders.
- Innovation: The world is ever-changing and the media has always played an important role in the evolution of mankind and its choices. At MHR, we combine our media adeptness, change-making approach and our alliance with top international and national organizations to foster change in the life of the everyday man who may be held back by ignorance, cultural myths and backward traditions. We are in the business of social good using digital catalysts to engender change and upgrade progressive thinking and perception towards health, rights and economic issues.
